Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Peterborough City Council is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. We aim to comply with WCAG 2.2 standards at AA standard.

Compliance status

This website is compliant with the WCAG version 2.2 AA standard based on automated tests before making it live. There may be some unknowns until a full manual test is done.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

This site has been made live as a 'soft launch'. A list of the issues remaining following full manual testing will be added within 8 weeks of the site being published with dates for resolution.
(Site published December 2025).

Disproportionate burden

We have determined that there is disproportionate burden to fully test the site for following reasons: This is an intermediate stage of the project and first iteration of an agile launch. Final functionality (inclusions and exclusions) are still to be determined and the remaining content to then be refined and then full testing to take place.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

Continued inhouse accessibility checks and analysis of the website, getting user feedback. Further development of the website during the first quarter of 2026.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

This website was partially tested on 25 November 2025 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard whilst on a development environment using Silktide automated checks.

Further testing in the live environment will be carried out by our in-house web team. For the ongoing monitoring of accessibility and quality issues with our web content we use Silktide and manual testing. For detailed investigations and coding issues we use Google dev tools and lighthouse in consultation with our website developer Zengenti.
